An annual Salsa competition for prize money and a trophy! Live music all day, kids fun, huge vendor market, food trucks, and all the chips and salsa you can handle! Vote for your favorite.
Competitors will have 2 chances to win.
The People's Choice Award is judged by the public and they can vote with their purchase of cups/ticket for your salsa.
The "BSOTCB" award is a blind judging and winner takes all (less the People's Choice winnings)
Prize Money & Awards:
All "Vote" tickets sold will go into a prize money purse for the winners. There is a guarantee of a starting $400 prize money this year with a minimum of 10 competitors. The more "vote" tickets sold, the bigger the prize money!

the "Best Salsa on the Coastal Bend" will take the remainder of the prize money!

We had 18 incredible salsa recipes in 2023. From dairy based, to watermelon, to salsa verde, to warm traditional salsa... Prize money was over $1800.00! 2024 is gonna be even bigger. Get registered early to reserve your booth.

FOOD VENDORS:
Please be sure you are registered with San Patricio County AND you have filled out the permitting form for the City of Aransas Pass for our one-day event.
Per the AP building inspector: if you have a pop-up booth and not a truck or trailer, the city will just require your food handlers permit.

THIS IS A ONE DAY EVENT
If you are a food vendor (truck/trailer/booth) you will need to have a SAN PATRICIO COUNTY PUBLIC HEALTH DEPT. CERTIFIED HEALTH PERMIT displayed, along with your food handlers permit.
The certificate from the San Pat Health Dpt will be given to you the same day you go down to fill out the paperwork and your booth/truck/trailer will be inspected by the health inspector fthe morning of the event. Please abide by the TEMPORARY EVENT GUIDE provided by San Patricio County.
For the City of Aransas Pass:
you will need to fill out a MOBILE FOOD VENDOR PERMIT at least 3 days prior to November 18th. Please email or call the AP fire marshal (Jason) to set up a time to have your food truck/trailer inspected for your fire safety requirements. If you are out of town, email him photos of your propane, Venta-Hood, and fire extinguishers so he can review them ahead of time, he will do a follow up spot check the morning if the event.
